Sabres add Matt Ellis
Apparently the Sabres need even more depth on offense and have claimed left winger Matt Ellis off of waivers. Last season in 54 NHL games he scored three goals, and five assists. As such I am really hoping that Buffalo is not planing on playing him above MacArthur, Kaleta, or Gerbe. To be completely honest, if he can't make the team in Los Angeles, there is no way he deserves to make the team in Buffalo. Yet if he gets sent down to Portland, he would have to clear waivers again, and hope that the Kings (or someone else) don't claim him off of waivers again. Perhaps this is just a long shot to try and add even more depth to Portland, as nothing is lost for trying, or even to hope that he is claimed off of waivers instead of MacArthur. Still this move is a bit curious.
